The USA's Delta Air Lines has filed with the US Department of Transportation (DoT) for permission to operate year-round A350-900 nonstop flights from its Atlanta hub to Cape Town, South Africa.

It already serves Johannesburg from Atlanta, but has still to win an okay from South African authorities for a triangular Atlanta-Johannesburg-Cape Town route.

 

The latest plan would see Delta serve Cape Town three times a week from November 18.
