Bonza delays Gold Coast flights 'indefinitely'

Further to our December 4 report on cancelled Bonza services, Australians now face "indefinite delays" to Bonza's planned Gold Coast launch.


The routes impacted include Gold Coast to Darwin, Cairns, Bundaberg, Gladstone, the Whitsundays, Avalon and Mildura.

Bonza ceo Tim Jordan said the airline was focused on informing customers as quickly as possible and in the short term it plans to use an aircraft leased from Canadian partner Flair at the Gold Coast base while it recruits local crew, but "this arrangement brings with it a separate regulatory approval process. That process is progressing but is not yet complete," Jordan said.

Bonza's Albury to Gold Coast flights also have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Bonza customers due to travel between Geelong's Avalon Airport and the Gold Coast this month have been offered 'special fares' by the Qantas Group's Jetstar.
