PATA elects hotelier as chairman

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has elected Sri Lankan hotelier Hiran Cooray its chairman.

Cooray is a board member of the Sri Lankan Tourism Development Authority and also sits on the Board of The Small Luxury Hotels of the World.


A marketing graduate from the University of North Carolina, Cooray has previously served as chairman of the PATA Sri Lanka Chapter.


Joao Costa Manuel Antunes, director of the Macau Government Tourist Office, was chairman-elect and Anthony Wong continues to serve as secretary/treasurer.
