Singapore arrivals up 20.4 per cent

Singapore tourist arrivals increased 20.4 per cent year-on-year in April, reaching 938,000 - the fifth straight monthly increase - according to new data from the Singapore Tourism Board. Hotel room revenue in April increased, as did the average occupancy rate - to 85 per cent. Room rates also improved, by 12.2 per cent to an average S$211. The STB has projected tourist arrivals  for 2010 to increase nearly 30 per cent year-on-year to 12.5 million.
