North Korea exporting nuclear technology?

There is growing concern that North Korea is exporting nuclear and ballistic missile technology using intermediaries, shell companies and overseas criminal networks to circumvent UN sanctions.

The information comes from a seven-member panel of UN experts in a report obtained by The Associated Press.

The panel said its research indicates Pyongyang is involved in banned nuclear and ballistic activities in Iran, Syria and Myanmar.

The report's release coincided with heightened tensions between North Korea and South Korea over the March sinking of a South Korean navy ship which killed 46 sailors.

As a result, travel to and from the region now is under increased scrutiny.
