Aust opposition pledges A$93.1m for cargo screening

Australia's federal opposition has pledged to restore cancelled Labor party funding for cargo screening and also boost the budget by a significant margin if it gains government at the upcoming election.

Leader of the opposition Tony Abbott says the (formerly Rudd) government screening program cuts would be reversed plus an additional A$35 million added, for a total of A$93.1 million.

Abbott said the move would strengthen Australia's border and border security.
