Cordis on track for largest NZ hotel status?

Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group says expansion planned for its Cordis hotel in Auckland, New Zealand will make it the largest in the country when completed in 2020.
The additions will gave the hotel 650 rooms and suites as well as new and extended MICE facilities. A new tower adjacent to the existing hotel will house an additional 250 rooms and suites sized from 32 square metres, as well as the new Club Lounge, which will feature panoramic views of the harbour and Auckland Tower.

The new event space of approximately 400 square metres (on top of 2,000 sqm currently) will offer natural light and multiple configurations, while the hotel’s award-winning eatery will have an additional 60 seats and improved interactive food display areas.

The new tower also will feature a destination bar with a courtyard and outdoor dining seating.
