Ryanair announces 18,000 winter flight cuts

Irish budget carrier Ryanair will cancel another 18,000 northern winter flights between November and March, affecting 400,000 more passengers.

It has announced the temporary suspension of 34 routes including London Stansted to Edinburgh and Glasgow, Gatwick to Belfast, Newcastle to Faro, and Glasgow to Las Palmas.
Ryanair has been widely criticised recently for cancelling up to 50 flights a day until 31 October, saying it “messed-up” in how it schedules time off for pilots. That move affected 315,000 customers.
