Within days of the US's budget cuts, Customs lines at some major airports have doubled, according to US Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano.
Napolitano said that a number of major airports already had seen lines balloon to 150-200 per cent of their normal size.
"If you're travelling, get to the airport earlier than you otherwise would," she said.
