The UK's London Heathrow airport has set aside GBP550 million to compensate the estimated 750 home owners who would be affected by a proposed third runway at the airport.
Anyone forced to sell their home would receive 25 per cent above the 'un-blighted market value' of their property from the fund plus stamp duty costs and all legal fees incurred in buying a new home.
In addition, the fund would also provide noise insulation for properties in the flight path.
