Los Angeles has set a new goal of generating 50 million visitors by 2020. Confirming the move, Ernest Wooden, president and chief executive of the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board (LA Tourism) president and ceo Ernest Wooden said LA Tourism will expand its efforts in China, the destination’s fastest-growing overseas market and its new number one overseas market (as of 2012 when it passed Australia), by opening a new tourism office in Shanghai.
India's Air India is to levy a charge for check in. Under the new system, to be implemented in the next few days, passengers will be allowed free checked baggage of 15 kg, down from the current 20 kg. There will be no charge for hand baggage up to 7 kg and the changes will apply only on domestic routes.

The American Society of Travel Agents has recommended the US Department of Transportation say 'no' to the application by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for approval of Resolution 787 governing the New Distribution Capability.
