Europe's Air France-KLM has announced a US$100 million strategic partnership with Brazil's Gol.
Gol has a 40 per cent market share in Brazil and a surge in travel to the country is expected for the World Cup soccer tournament in June this year as well as the 2016 summer Olympic Games.
Subject to approvals, the deal expands a five-year-old ticketing agreement and would give the two carriers exclusive code-sharing rights on European and Brazilian routes.
