Vietnamese carriers plan more international flights

Vietnam's Vietnam Air plans to open a number of new international routes this year, including Hanoi-Haneda, Danang-Tokyo and Danang-Narita (all Japan) and one route from Vinh to Laos' Vientiane.

The airline also plans to increase the frequency of several existing international routes such as Hanoi-Fukuoka (Japan), Hanoi-Beijing (China), HCM City-Narita (Japan) and HCM City-Beijing.

Rival Jetstar Pacific Airlines also plans to expand its foreign footprint, with two new daily flight routes to Macau (Hanoi-Macau and Danang-Macau).

It also will fly from Hanoi to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and from HCM City to Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, VietJet Air plans a number of new flights within three hours of Vietnam including Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Kunming, Myanmar, Seoul, Fukuoka and Osaka.

Recently, VietJet signed a contract to buy and hire a total of 100 A320 planes, with delivery from 2014 through 2024.
