Adventure expo set for Sydney

Planning is well under way for this year's Adventure Travel Expo in Sydney 08-09 November.

The event, which celebrates its 20th edition in 2014, will feature Adventure Travel ambassador Jeremy Scott.

Scott has cycled 52,000kms around the world despite heart problems and undergoing open heart surgery at just four years of age.

Scott wanted a challenge that would push him beyond anything he had ever previously attempted, so with almost no experience or training, he began a solo, self-funded bike ride through 29 countries in October, 2011. He started in London, UK and ended in New Zealand more than two and a half years later.

He will be sharing his story in the Travel Talks Room at the Expo.

Other speakers include representatives from STA Travel, G Adventures and Intrepid Travel.

Exhibitors include Pete Dobré’s Photography Tours, The Rock Tour, Chalet Guardian and MADEC Australia, a free government-funded service linking working holiday makers with horticulture industries around Australia on the Harvest Trail.

Prizes include the opportunity to win a trip to the Amalfi Coast.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday 08-09 November, 2014.

TIME: 12noon-17.00 both days.

WHERE: Sydney Town Hall, 483 George Street (Druitt Street entrance).

Entry is free. More information www.myadventureexpo.com
