Virgin Australia delays A330 upgrade cutoff

Virgin Australia's all-new business class seats won't be in place until next month, while upgrades to the airline's entire A330 fleet now won't be completed until the end of October.

Virgin originally had planned its new business class seats would debut in March, with the entire six-strong A330 fleet retrofitted by August.

During the A330 refit period - from August to October - Boeing 737s will operate on selected Sydney-Perth and Melbourne-Perth flights.

The carrier says changes made to safety testing rules during the development stage of the project changed the original rollout timetable.
