'Altogether Perfect' seeking more MICE business

Australia's Hunter Valley wine region in New South Wales is participating in a new strategy to lure more conferences away from Sydney.

Newcastle Convention Bureau, Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association and Destination Port Stephens are the three partners in 'Altogether Perfect', all committed to pitching each area’s strengths.

The Altogether Perfect team already has travelled to Adelaide for the Associations Forum National Conference, the first of nine such expos.

With more than 200 delegates from Australia and New Zealand, the Associations Forum National Conference attracts various industry and charity associations all looking for convention locations.

Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association marketing executive Danny Eather said: "Not many regional areas can match our options.”

Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, Chateau Elan and Cypress Lakes have great facilities to host conferences for 500 to 1500 people, he added, and “there’s also the opportunity for the vineyards to host overflow accommodation”.

Altogether Perfect is funded through Destination NSW's Regional Visitor Economy Fund.
