Two new hotels add to Lausanne's MICE strengths

Switzerland's Lausanne Tourisme & Convention Bureau has praised the nearby new three star hotel and conference centre Hotel Aquatis.

The 143-bedroom hotel offers a dedicated conference and training centre, with a state-of-the-art fresh water aquarium complex to open at the end of 2016.

The new complex is the latest in the portfolio owned by Boas Swiss Hotels, a group of 10 hotels in the western regions of Switzerland.

The conference centre has two large conference suites with capacity to host up to 380 plus two spaces for board meetings of up to eight people. The conference areas can be split into smaller seminar spaces of either 50 or 150 person capacity.

Meanwhile, the three star Hotel des Voyageurs, which is situated in the Lausanne city centre, has reopened offering 35 rooms and suites for visitors and business travellers.

Olivier Mathieu of the Lausanne Tourisme and Convention Bureau said: “We’re delighted to be opening the doors of two fantastic three star hotels that will strengthen our accommodation offering for business travellers.

"The Aquatis, particularly, will offer a whole new dimension for our meetings and events offering with all the necessary facilities on-site and the city centre just a short ride on the metro, while the Hotel des Voyageurs offers great contemporary accommodation options for those wanting to meet in the city centre.”
