Wanaka launches women's initiative

ridge-1Release Wanaka has joined forces with international personal development organisation Mission WOW to create a unique women's winter retreat package, combining adventure, luxury and relaxation in the winter destination resort of Lake Wanaka in New Zealand's Southern Alps.

The adventure takes the form of off-piste ski touring with a course aimed at proficient skiers who want to build their off-piste confidence and skills base.

The course will feature the skills needed for safe backcountry skiing. These include developing skiing skills and efficient uphill skinning technique, instruction on transceiver use and navigation while exploring some of the region's finest terrain.

Evenings are spent relaxing in a hot tub under the Southern stars, indulging with in-house restorative yoga classes and massage treatments.

Gourmet dining experiences with private wine tasting from local award winning wineries round off the day.

"When we decided to team up, it came from the desire to create a space for women to come together to learn, challenge themselves in a safe and fun environment, build enduring connections and to do all of this in one of the most spectacular playgrounds on the planet," said Prairie Pritchett, Release Wanaka.

The package includes five nights' accommodation at the Mountain Range luxury lodge, daily chef service, four days ski/board back country instruction and guiding, all equipment, on-the-ground transport, yoga classes and massage.

The package is NZ$4950 per person and runs from 28 August to 2 September 2013, numbers are limited.
