India's wellness industry is now claimed to be one of the fastest growing segments of the travel and leisure industry.

According to new research, the country has emerged as one of the world's most cost-efficient medical tourist destinations.

India's domestic wellness industry is currently valued at more than US$2.2 billion and it is anticipated to grow by 35-40 per cent in the next few years.

With the potential to become an attractive wellness destination for travellers around the world, some of India's major hospitals are planning to establish spas to provide "complete healthcare" to patients.
