Atlasglobal plans two new airlines

Turkey's Atlasglobal Airlines ceo Murat Ersoy says the carrier is to launch two new airline companies in the Middle East and Gulf region.

The carrier flew to eight countries last northern summer, but as of July this year says it will fly to 30 countries. "We connect countries east of Turkey to those west of Turkey," Ersoy said.

Part of its startegy is to take advantage of Istanbul's location, offering one hour less flight transfer time than other major airport hubs such as Frankfurt and Dubai, he said.

However, Turkey and Egypt currently are seen as risky due to recent terror events, leading tour operators to lessen dependence on both countries and opening up opportunities for travel to other nearby regions.

Ersoy says tour operator focus in future will be to spread destination risk, limiting their exposure to 'dangerous' regions.
