Turkish airports on track for 200m passengers

Turkish airports are on target to see 200 million passengers by the end of the year, the country's Transport minister Binali Yildirim says. 180 million passengers used Turkey’s 55 airports last year.

Istanbul’s new and third airport is due to open in February 2018. “I believe the third airport in Istanbul will provide for the service needs of Asia and Africa, as well as Istanbul, and carry Istanbul to the position in the aviation market which it deserves,” Yildirim said.
