The last of the carriers prosecuted in a class action launched in 2006 alleging a conspiracy to artificially inflate the price of air freight services has entered into a settlement agreement of US$12.5 million.
The decision by Air India , brings the litigation to an end with total payments of $1.2 billion.
The civil class action lawsuit was scheduled for trial in September in New York Federal Court.
Compensation for customers overcharged under the price-fixing conspiracy will come from the settlements achieved as follows:
