Hours after the crash of EgyptAir MS804 in the Mediterranean, a Delta Airlines Frankfurt-Kuwait charter entered Greek air space without identifying itself.
Its pilots failed to respond to calls from air traffic controllers and F-16 fighter jets were scrambled by the Greek defence ministry. The fighter pilots reportedly made visual contact with the pilots and said they appeared to be asleep at their seats in the cockpit.
The Delta pilots allegedly eventually were wakened by cabin crew.
The plane landed safely.
