Brown among Canberra Writer's meet leaders

Former Australian senator and leader of the Greens Bob Brown and New York Times bestselling author Sarah Wilson will lead invited writers for the inaugural Canberra Writers Festival set to take at the national capital 26 – 28 August 2016.


Melbourne Writers Festival director Lisa Dempster, who has led Canberra Writers Festival’s creative direction, said: “We have secured some amazing writers for the inaugural year of the festival.

“Canberra Writers Festival will be a stimulating three days full of different activities to suit all audiences, we couldn’t be more excited. The program committee has been working hard to ensure the festival brings its theme of Power, Politics and Passion to life across the city,” said Dempster.

Other writers confirmed  for the 2016 Canberra Writers Festival include; Stan Grant, Kerry O’Brien, Rosalie Ham, Melinda Bobis, Mark Tedeschi, Don Watson, Susan Hawthorne, Aoife Clifford, Marion Halligan, Solari Gentill, Omar Musa, Tom Dusevic and Paul Ritchie.
