Dungog Festival releases an early ‘taster’

Organisers of the Dungog Festival have unveiled a program of food, film and arts offerings for visitors travelling to Australia’s New South Wales Hunter region to experience the festival, which runs three days from 27 until 30 October 2016.

For the third year running, Dungog’s Dowling Street will be taken over by the popular Long Table Dinner showcasing local produce from the region.

The Winemakers Lunch will showcase Hunter’s finest wines on a locally-sourced menu from guest chef Christine Manfield.

Local produce will also feature at the growers’ market. Visitors will be able to sample and buy Dungog-grown pork, beef and lamb, locally grown fruit and vegetables and regional wines. Foodie workshops and demonstrations will allow festival-goers the opportunity to try their hand at activities like bread baking, sausage making and brewing craft beers.

The town will come to life with musical entertainment night and day in the town’s pubs and on festival stages, including a Saturday night party with the party band Enormous Horns.

The full program will be unveiled in late August when Gold Pass and Luxury Weekend package tickets go on sale ahead of general ticket sales in September.
