Rob Gurney has been appointed chief executive of global airline alliance oneworld, replacing Bruce Ashby.


He will join oneworld in October from Gulf carrier Emirates, where he currently is senior vice-president commercial operations The Americas.


As oneworld chief executive he will report to the alliance’s Governing Board, comprising the chief executives of all member airlines, and lead the central alliance team, which is based in New York.
