Stronger airline profits, but risks remain - IATA

Alexandre de Juniac, director-general of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has told a Singapore meeting that airlines are expected to generate US$39.4 billion in net profit for 2016.

“It seems we are living in extraordinary financial times,” he said.

De Juniac said the better products came from lower fuel costs and strong passenger demand, but warned fuel uncertainties continuing terror attacks had the potential to reverse the strong results.
