Hurricane Matthew's effects in the Caribbean are hitting US flights, with flight cancellations at airports serving the popular vacation region.


Meteorologists are tracking the major hurricane's progress through Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic before it affects the Bahamas later this week.


Parts of Jamaica have already been hit by rain and strong winds, with flood waters blocking roads in the capital, Kingston.


A hurricane warning is in place for Haiti, which is expected to be more seriously affected.


The category-four hurricane is expected to bring up to 64 cm (25 inches) of rain.
