BA head wants Heathrow expansion - but not to pay for it

Reiterating his ceo Willie Walsh's well-known stance on the same subject, the new chief executive of British Airways (BA) says airlines must not be expected to fund the expansion of London Heathrow airport.


Alex Cruz said there was an “overwhelming case” for expanding capacity at Heathrow, the UK’s only hub airport, but not at any cost.


“Any notion that the cost will be borne by airlines is not acceptable,” he said.
