Heathrow decision "about 50 years too late" says Dubai Airports chief

The UK government’s decision to expand London’s Heathrow airport is about “50 years too late”, according to the chief executive officer of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths.

He also told Bloomberg TV in an interview: “Whether they’ll ever build it or not we’ll just have to wait and see, but I don’t think it will be in the next 10 years."

The plan faces legal challenges and hundreds of homes in adjacent communities will have to be compulsorily purchased and demolished before a third runway can be built.

A parliamentary vote on the project will take place at the end of 2017.
