FedEx continues naming planes after employees' children

US express giant FedEx is continuing its program of naming its aircraft after the children of employees.

The latest children to have an aircraft named after them as part of the FedEx Aircraft naming Program were four-year-old Tyler and nine-year-old Evie, who had two B757 freighters named in their honour.

The newly named aircraft, Tyler N140FE and Evie N789FD, are part of a fleet of more than 650 aircraft.

So far, about 700 FedEx employees’ children have participated in the program, which started when a Falcon aircraft was named Wendy after the daughter of FedEx chairman and chief executive Fred Smith.
