Flooding hits southern Thailand

At least 14 people have died after severe flooding hit the popular tourist islands of Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan as well as Krabi, Trang and other southern Thailand areas.


No foreigners were reported killed or injured, but parts of 11 southern provinces were declared disaster zones by local authorities. An estimated 94,000 people have been severely affected.


Floods also cut the main rail line to Malaysia.
