Weak pound to hit easyJet results

UK-based low cost airline easyJet says the 'weak pound' and terror attacks in Europe are expected to cost it around GBP105 million over the 2016/17 financial year, up from the GBP90 million previously estimated.

It also says it is spending GBP10 million for an air operators certificate covering a new operating company in mainland Europe to protect its flying rights after the UK leaves the European Union (Brexit).

It has confirmed it expects revenue per seat for the first half of the year to decline by "high single digits".
