Fewer Brits travelling to USA

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics indicate the total number of UK residents travelling overseas was nine per cent higher - at 4.6 million - in January, but the number going to the US fell 17 per cent. 

A Travelzoo poll before Donald Trump's presidential victory found 31 per cent of Brits said they would reconsider travel to the US following a Trump win, and 20 per cent said they would definitely not go on holiday there. 

Some 250,000 Britons travelled to the US in December, but the figure fell to 230,000 in January. 

By comparison, 276,000 Britons travelled to North America in January 2016 for business, leisure or to see friends and family.
