TPG pulls out of SriLankan deal

The Sri Lankan government is to negotiate directly with foreign airlines to find a strategic partner for SriLankan Airlines after US-based private equity firm TPG stepped away, saying due diligence had shown it had better investment options elsewhere.
The previous SriLankan investor, Emirates, pulled out after former president Mahinda Rajapaksa terminated the contract over an argument that concerned dumping paying passengers for a presidential entourage.
