Nepal Air cancels Doha flights

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has cancelled its Kathmandu-Doha (Qatar)-Kathmandu flights after Iran refused it permission to overfly the country, citing a long-standing EUR11,280 debt. NAC needs to operate its flights to Qatar’s capital through Iran airspace because Gulf countries Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates cut ties with Qatar and imposed airspace restrictions on flights to and from Doha.
The debt is small and easily paid, though there is no indication Iran would automatically then reverse its overflight decision.
