Qantas to focus on B737 wifi for now

Australia's Qantas says it will focus on offering its in-flight wifi service on its B737 fleet after it comes out of 'beta' trial in September this year, when it plans to have 10 jets offering the free service.
Plans to equip an Airbus A330 with wifi have been pushed back to later this year.

The trial period results indicate download speeds routinely topping 12Mbps, with the most popular usage times mornings and evenings, particularly on the Sydney-Melbourne route.

Qantas says a third of passengers on its wifi-equipped jet are logging on, with email and web browsing particularly visiting news web sites the most popular activities, followed by social media, streaming video and music and messaging services.
