Face-to-face Board meetings ‘on the rise’ - survey

The annual Association Board Survey 2021 shows the average number of face-to-face Board meetings scheduled has increased and the average number of online meetings has decreased, indicating Boards are slowly returning to face-to-face meetings post Covid-19.

Other key findings include:

  • • Presidents/chairs of Boards are increasingly being elected by Boards.
  • • The number of female directors on Boards has increased slightly.
  • • The percentage of associations surveyed that allocated funds for directors’ professional development has decreased.
  • • The number of organisations that pay directors’ fees, other than expense reimbursements, continues to decrease.

The Association Board Survey examines a number of questions including Board composition and association governance and can be purchased for US$200 (NFP non-members).
