Jetstar sale crashes its web site

A ticket sale for Australia-based Jetstar (part of the Qantas stable) temporarily crashed the low-cost carrier’s web site after it offered tickets priced as low as A$29 on selected domestic routes.

The sale launched on May 3 and was supposed to last five days, but many of the seats were purchased within hours and the airline's web site then crashed.

The lowest fares were limited to flights from Perth to the Gold Coast, Brisbane to Newcastle, Adelaide to Brisbane and Sydney to Byron Bay, but also included international destinations including South Korea, Japan and Bali.
