Brazil's airports in trouble

Brazil's airports that will serve World Cup 2014 venues are saturated and eight are 'on the brink of operational collapse', a government study says.

The report singled out Manaus, plus Sao Paulo's Guarulhos and Congonhas among the worst affected. 

Brazil's airport authority, Infraero, is to invest US$7 billion to upgrade 16 airports and increase capacity by 66 per cent before the football tournament begins.
