Iberia pilots vote for strike

UK carrier British Airways has only recently avoided a threatened cabin crew strike, but now new IAG partner Iberia of Spain faces a possible pilots stoppage.

The two-year-old dispute is over the future of the carrier's short-haul operations.

Iberia's pilots don't back plans to overhaul Iberia's domestic and European operations and their union received almost unanimous backing from 1,650 Iberia members on a call for strike action.

Last year, before its merger with BA, Iberia reported an operating loss of EUR26 million.
