Southeast Asia's biggest container carrier, Neptune Orient Lines, is to cut about 1,000 jobs, or 9.1 per cent of its workforce as a response to lessened demand. The job cuts will apply mainly to North America, the Singapore-based company said. About 50 positions will go at its Singapore base.
