China Eastern figures down

China’s China Eastern Airlines has reported freight throughput fell 16.67 per cent year-on-year to 78,900 tons in September, with the cargo load factor down 3.4 per cent to 53.04 per cent. It also carried 3.08 million passengers, down 9.37 per cent from a year earlier.

India’s government has denied cash bailouts for private airlines including Jet and Kingfisher, although it confirmed airlines that owe millions of dollars in unpaid fuel bills (including state owned Indian and Air India) now have 90 days to clear their debt instead of 60.
