China’s China Eastern Airlines has reported freight throughput fell 16.67 per cent year-on-year to 78,900 tons in September, with the cargo load factor down 3.4 per cent to 53.04 per cent. It also carried 3.08 million passengers, down 9.37 per cent from a year earlier.

German carrier Lufthansa is reported by Agence France Press as the sole bidder so far for the Austrian government’s 41.6 per cent share of Austrian Airlines, while Reuters reports Russian airline S7 will file a serious bid tied to conditions – and also ask for more time in the auction, which is due to end next week.
