The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will begin testing air cargo screening technologies at the Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) International Airport as part of its previously announced US$30 million Air Cargo Explosives Detection Pilot Program (ACEDPP).

Emirates Airline has announced another record performance with net profit for the first six months of the current financial year 2006-07 at AUD$421 million (US$ 323 million), up 29 per cent compared to AUD$328 million (US$ 251 million) recorded in the same period last year.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) reported today that it achieved peak handling records in the month of October.  On October 28 the tonnage handled surpassed the 9000-tonne level hitting a daily tonnage record of 9046 tonnes.

FedEx cancels Airbus order and chooses Boeing 777 freighter

In a decision that is expected to have execs at Airbus reeling, FedEx announced today, an agreement with Boeing to acquire 15 new B777 Freighter aircraft with options to purchase an additional 15 aircraft.
