German carrier invests in training

Lufthansa Cargo is ploughing huge resources into training young people and, by 2010, will more than double the number of traineeships at its Frankfurt home base from 15 to 32. Additionally, it is making more training positions available in Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart, raising the total number of traineeships on offer in Germany annually to 37.

Korea’s Korean Air has scrapped plans to operate a B747 combi carrying passengers and freight on its new direct service from Seoul, Korea –Tel Aviv, Israel due to high passenger demand.
Korean will now use a Boeing 747-400 on the run.

An unconfirmed report in Japan’s Nikkei newspaper claims Japan Airlines is to reduce cargo flights to the US. The airline will end cargo flights between Narita and New York and cut flights to Los Angeles to 10 a week from 19, Nikkei said.
