BAWC OPENS FREIGHTER ROUTE FROM PRESTWICK

BA World Cargo is introducing a new freighter route to the US from Prestwick (PIK) airport from October 11.  The new cities are Atlanta (twice a week) and then Chicago and Huston (once a week) and have been developed says BAWC in response to an increase in exports of heavy manufacturing goods from the region.

British-based low-cost carrier Ryanair is reported to have launched a €1.48bn (A$2.38 billion) bid to buy Aer Lingus. Ryanair said it had bought a 16 per cent stake in Aer Lingus and was offering €2.80 (A$4.76) per share for remaining stocks.
