Roger Larreur (pictured right) is now chief commercial officer (cco) for Alliance Ground International (AGI), an air cargo handling, freighter ground handling and airport security services company.

Larreur has managed accounts for some of the world’s largest airlines and airports for both cargo and passenger-related services, and he has worked across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has strengthened its Policy and Compliance section with the appointment of Igor Popovics (pictured right) as policy and compliance advisor, with responsibility for Customs and frontier-related issues.  

Prior to joining BIFA, Popovics was export documents and customs declaration officer at the London Chamber of Commerce.

Swissport wins Latam's Auckland business

Swissport has won the ground services business at New Zealand’s Auckland International Airport for Latam Airlines, which reintroduced flights between Santiago de Chile and Auckland on 31 March. The carrier operates three weekly B787 flights a week.

Heathrow’s dnata City East complex becomes airport’s largest off-site cargo handling operation

Dubai-based dnata has opened a state-of-the-art cargo centre at London Heathrow airport (LHR). Part of the company’s ‘dnata City East’ complex, the UK facility further increases the company’s capacity at LHR.
The  expansion makes dnata City East the largest off-site cargo handling operation at the UK’s largest commercial aviation hub. The new, 10,500 m² facility (‘Phase II’) was designed to operate in conjunction with dnata City East’s existing 22,500 m²  facility (‘Phase I’) which opened in September 2019.
