Dubai cargo up 17.7 per cent

The UAE’s Dubai International airport saw a 17.7 per cent increase in cargo turnover during October against the same month last year, with 185,867 tonnes handled compared to 157,968 tonnes.

TSA urged to find and approve better cargo screening systems

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) is urging the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to more quickly evaluate new technologies ahead of the August 2010 100 per cent cargo screening mandate, saying it is concerned that much of the equipment currently certified for use for screening is inadequate and ill-suited for processing palletised air cargo.
