The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has blocked an attempt in New York to shoot at Air National Guard military cargo planes using stinger surface-to-air guided missiles.  Four men were arrested following an undercover investigation conducted over about a year, US reports say.

In the next few weeks, thousands of crates of Washington State, USA cherries are due to be loaded on passenger flights to Pacific Rim countries, but shippers say this year they might be flying on services out of Canada. Growers use passenger planes because ships are too slow, and dedicated freighter services are not frequent enough to carry the very-perishable crop.
