Southwest fined US$7.5m

US carrier Southwest Airlines will pay a fine of US$7.5 million over two years for flying 46 planes that had missed crucial safety checks on a total of 59,791 flights. The fine, by the Federal Aviation Administration, is US$2.5 million less than originally levied.

Switzerland’s Zurich Airport has joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) e-freight program. In the second half of February, its first e-freight compliant transactions were performed on the trade lanes between Zurich Airport and Chicago, Hong Kong, Singapore and London.
